Green Building

"A green building, also known as a sustainable building, is a structure that is designed, built, renovated, operated, or reused in an ecological and resource-efficient manner. Green buildings are designed to meet certain objectives such as protecting occupant health; improving employee productivity; using energy, water, and other resources more efficiently; and reducing the overall impact on the environment."

Thermal insulation is one of the major elements in a green building as it has a direct impact on the energy efficiency of the building envelope. Any heat exchange through the building envelope (e.g roof and wall) can be retarded by applying insulation with the right thermal resistance (R Value). Insulation helps to maintain the temperature of the indoor environment while minimizing A/C load and ongoing energy consumption.

Twiga Insul has been listed as a green product under following green product labelling system:

  • Singapore Green Building product labelling scheme certificate.
  • CII-IGBC Green Pro certification.
  • GRIHA/SVAGRIHA product certification (TERI).

Twiga Insul has been tested as per green assessment parameters and found suitable to be applied in environment-friendly sustainable buildings or green buildings.
Following are some key points on environmental performance:

  • Raw material: a) No petroleum based or plastic based raw material, b) High recycled content, c) Material acquisition only from authorized sources or designated area.
  • Manufacturing: a) Lower energy intensity b) Low water intensity c) Waste management.
  • Regional manufacturing: Supply from factories located in North and West India.
  • Performance: Superior thermal and acoustic insulation properties.
  • Logistic: Compressed packaging to reduce transportation energy and cost.
  • Reusability: The insulation has long performing life and can be reused after reclaiming.
  • No hazardous content.
