Twiga Insul

One of the recognized products for thermal and acoustic insulation, Twiga Insul is light gold in colour and is a light weight, compressible insulation material consisting of fine, long, inorganic glass fibers bonded together by a thermosetting binder.

Twiga Insul is available in flexible blankets (rolls) and slabs or boards, in various densities and thicknesses and with a wide range of factory applied facings which include reinforced fire rated aluminium foil, glass tissue, black glass tissue and a wide range of imported premium facings.

Twiga Insul for Thermal and Acoustic Insulation

Thermal Performance

Cooling costs in a building insulated throughout with glass wool can be reduced significantly. The use of glass wool for the thermal insulation of external walls and ceilings has been shown to reduce energy consumption by 20% to 30%.

Acoustic Performance

Twiga Glass Wool with its outstanding acoustic performance has excellent acoustic absorption characteristics. Whether it is sound insulation for industry, commercial premises, public buildings, or domestic applications, Twiga Insul outperforms others.

Acoustic Insulation values of:

Thickness (mm) Noise Reduction Coefficient Sound Absorption Class Test Standard
25 0.71 – 0.89 Class B ASTM C 423 / ISO 354
50 0.75 – 0.95 Class B – Class A
100 >0.85 Class B – Class A

Fire Safety

Twiga Insul glasswool made from pure silica sand will not support combustion even in direct, prolonged contact with flames. It does not emit toxic fumes or smoke, which are the two biggest health hazards during fire. Glass wool is a complete fire safe product complying the following standards:

  • BS (British Standard) 476 part 4, ISO 1182, IS 3808, International Maritime Organization (IMO) - NON-COMBUSTIBLE (best class).
  • Reaction to fire A1 as per EN 13501 (best class).
  • BS 476 part 6 – Does not PROPAGATE FIRE.
  • BS 476 part 7- Class 1 - SURFACE SPREAD OF FLAME is NIL.
  • Class 0 complied (best class).
  • BS 476 part 5 – Designated as P - (not easily ignitable).
  • BS 6853 (toxicity index 0.65) - NON-EMISSION OF SMOKE and TOXIC GASES.

Advantages

  • High thermal and acoustic insulation values at much lower weight.
  • Non-combustible and fire safe insulation to meet fire and life safety requirement of National Building Code 2016.
  • Easy to carry, lay and install – fast, hassle-free application.
  • Extra strong facings for better durability and ease of installation.
  • Long length for minimum joints and sealing – less man-hour.
  • Silver, white and black colored finish for different site requirements.
  • Apply and forget – maintenance free.
  • Safe from acidic vapors with strong polypropylene facing.
  • Free from metal shots and corrosive Chlorides i.e better life of roof sheets.
  • Efficient compressed packaging for better storage space management and less freight cost.
  • Available in standard yellow material (Twiga Insul) and soft-feel green material (Twiga Eco Insul).
